Everyone needs #zentime and the physical, mental and therapeutic benefits of spa treatments and therapeutic massages have long been acknowledged. Which is we’re offering free zentime this month to those fighting breast cancer.

Throughout October, a number of complimentary appointments will be made available in each salon, accessible for those currently undergoing treatment or recovering from it. From luxury manicures and HD Brows to LVL Lashes and even specialist pampering massages carried out by Zen Lifestyle’s in-house oncology massage therapist, zentime will be available within the tranquil surroundings of one of our three city centre salons.

“The beauty and wellbeing benefits of spa treatments are well documented and, as well as providing aesthetic results, they can also reduce stress, tiredness, anxiety as well as relaxing both body and mind,” admits our director, Fiona Fowley.

“I cannot begin to imagine how hard it must be to fight cancer and so I wanted to offer our tranquil surroundings as a place for those undergoing treatment to relax, unwind and enjoy some zentime. Furthermore, as one of our therapists is trained in oncology massage we can offer a specialised and truly tailored massage.”

Zen senior therapist Alison Hanlin, who has undergone specialist training in oncology massage, agrees. “Many people who are undergoing cancer treatment sadly feel they have to stay away from a pampering massage as, once you’ve had a lymph node removed, normal massage which involves lymphatic drainage can cause swelling and excess fluid.

“Having had personal experiences of cancer through family and friends, I wanted to be able to offer some much-needed escapism so trained in oncology massage. This form of massage is very light and adapted to each individual following a very thorough consultation. Clients have told me that the massage offers them the chance to relax and escape from what they are going through.”
