24 members of the Zen team were present at a glittering black-tie event at the spectacular Guildhall in the heart of London to see us crowned Employer of the Year and Beauty Salon of the Year.
The Professional Beauty Awards
The Professional Beauty Awards, which launched in 1997, is the most prestigious and established awards scheme for the beauty, spa, nails and aesthetics markets, and we were up against some of the finest talent in the industry.
The judging process was intensive, including written submissions and assessments by visiting judges and mystery shoppers.
Not only that, we had to face an extended panel interview with leading industry figures, where they were looking to hear about our key achievements of 2013 and find out more about the training and development opportunities available at Zen.
Having had a chance to speak to some of the judges and leading industry figures after the ceremony, some of the feedback we received was fantastic.
Employer of the Year
As well as winning Employer of the Year – 21 Employees or More and Beauty Salon of the Year – Four Rooms or More, we were also delighted to be nominated in two other categories; Beauty Salon of the Year – Three Rooms or Fewer, and Therapist of the Year.
Beauty Salon of the Year
Although we are disappointed that our much-loved beauty therapist, Julie Brown, didn’t win Therapist of the Year, we were extremely pleased to see Teviot Place winning Beauty Salon of the Year – Four Rooms or More.
The Teviot Place salon has undergone an extensive refurbishment as well as capital investment in the latest treatment technology. There is now an extraordinary team of therapists at Teviot Place delivering an incredible standard of treatment, under the direction of our inspirational salon manager Julie Macdonald.
We are incredibly proud of Julie and the rest of the Zen team, and these awards are just reward for their amazing talent, dedication and hard work.
