Since expecting my second baby, I’ve been making more of an effort to get things done which I seemed to forget about doing during my first pregnancy, many of these being beauty treatments!

Here are my top 5 beauty recommendations for you other Mummy’s to be out there:

1. Pregnancy Massage, has to be at the top of my list. It’s a fantastic way of switching off for an hour and letting someone else help soothe the aching areas of my body. The hour could not have lasted long enough, the warm massage bed, oils and relaxing music are definitely needed. The massage is adapted around a pillow for comfort and as long as you’re out of your first trimester, it is totally safe right up until the end of your pregnancy.

2. Deluxe Spa Pedicure, relaxing with a peppermint tea whilst you get a pampering warm foot bath, soothing massage and to finish a paraffin wax treatment and toes painted. There’s not much better for my sore swollen feet, especially when reaching my toes myself has become increasing difficult. There’s definitely something nice about having your feet and toes taken care of when you have them on show in hospital, for the weeks after birth, or whilst being at home. I could not recommend it enough!

3. Eyelash and Eyebrow Tint, never underestimate the power of a tint! I always feel it makes such a difference when the last thing you want to be doing is applying your mascara and brows when you’ve been up all night with your new born. (We’d recommend having another tint test after your first trimester and 48hrs before having the treatment.)

4. Fake tan, I totally wish I’d got one at the end of my last pregnancy and I won’t be missing it this time round! I don’t know about you but I just feel so much better when I look like I’ve been in the sun! When the angles just gets too awkward to do yourself and your partner could never be trusted with a tan mitt, it’s such a lovely boost to come in and get one done professionally. The Vita Liberata Heavenly Elixir Tan we use at Zen is super luxurious and can last up to 7 days.

5. Lastly I’ll be getting a fresh Manicure. Mum life means I like having them shorter than normal, however there’s no better than feeling thank having them filed, buffed, shaped and oiled. You always get a hand massage too!

Making time for yourself before giving birth it so important, as I know now, there’s not much time after your baby comes along so having a bit of a pamper beforehand is worth it!
