The search for new dresses and shoes is now almost over, and the daily deliveries from Asos and Zara are starting to slow down, because the Professional Beauty Awards 2014 is almost upon us!
Zen Lifestyle heads to London
Taking place this Sunday, the august surroundings of the historic Guildhall in the heart of London will be brought to life by the most exuberant therapy team in the UK, when the Zen girls don their gladrags and hit the champagne reception.
With 24 members of staff heading to London for the awards, the business is having to close all three salons for two days as there will be no one left in Edinburgh to work in them!
The team is heading down on Sunday by train, arriving with just enough time to spare to get the gear on and add the final touches to the hair dos.
After a night rubbing shoulders with the great and the good of the UK beauty industry, as well as the international spa industry (the World Spa & Wellness Awards are held at the same time), the Zen girls will light up the dance floor with some of their ‘special’ moves.
Despite the pre–event excitement, there is a measure of cautious apprehension amongst the team. In particular, the girls will be very nervous on the night for the hopes of star therapist Julie Brown, who is shortlisted for the third year running for UK Therapist of the Year.
Although the business has enjoyed success in the past in the Salon of the Year categories, the nomination for Employer of the Year represents new territory for Zen Lifestyle.
However, with the extraordinary investments the company has made in learning and development programmes for employees, the staff are hopeful of some further recognition in this area, to add to the achievement of the Investors in People standard towards the end of 2013.
We are incredibly excited for the awards, and we truly hope that we can to add to our achievements on the evening as a reward to our amazingly talented and hard-working team.
