Background
For the past 11 years Zen Lifestyle has been a permanent feature in the address books of Edinburgh’s discerning beauty clientele. Zen Lifestyle opened in 1999 offering an exquisite ‘Sanctuary in the City’ – a complete lifestyle experience for men and women, providing the widest range of beauty treatments and therapies.
Owner Fiona Fowley believed there was a market for a contemporary beauty salon, one that catered for the real needs of clients, providing them with a variety of treatments ranging from holistic to classic within a timeframe that suits their lifestyle.

Evolution
The beauty industry has been changing at an astonishing pace and Zen Lifestyle has been evolving too, in order to ensure that our clients have access to all the most up to date and most effective treatments. We continue to develop our offering and environment and strive to achieve the highest standards in client care, products and treatments.
We now offer a wide range of advanced anti-ageing and corrective treatments, as well as the latest cosmeceutical products and peels. We are home to a skin clinic offering minor cosmetic procedures including wrinkle relaxing injections and dermal fillers. Our most recent treatment introductions include Dermaroller, Thermage, Fraxel laser and Permanent Makeup.
Awards
Zen Lifestyle has been recognised numerous times by industry peers as an outstanding service provider and innovator. We have been lucky enough to win a total of 15 national beauty awards during the short history of the company.
In September 2008 we were presented with the prestigious UK Salon of the Year award at the British Beauty & Spa Awards. This was the second time we had achieved this pinnacle award. We also managed to pick up three other awards including marketing, best regional salon (Scotland & NW) and best retail salon.
In the 2009 industry awards ceremony Zen Lifestyle entered the industry Hall of Fame. This accolade recognises the salon's consistent achievement and contribution to professional standards over many years. Zen's founder, Fiona Fowley, was also given a major personal recognition, being awarded UK Salon Director of the Year.
In it's survey of national salon owners in 2009, Professional Beauty Magazine named Zen Lifestyle as the 'Most Desireable salon in the UK', ahead of the Urban Retreat at Harrods and many other high profile salons throughout the UK. you can read the full article here.
In 2010 Zen Lifestyle was been shortlisted in the Professional Beauty Awards in 2 categories. Best salon 3 rooms or less (Bruntsfield) and Best Salon 4 rooms or more (Teviot).
In recognition of Fiona's standing in the UK beauty industry, she has now been invited to form part of the judging panel at the 2011 Professional Beauty Awards, whcih will be presented in London in March.
