Julie and Carrie, two of our salon mangers, have just returned from a fab trip to Hollywood and LA, to visit the California based operations of skin care supplier Murad. The all expenses paid trip was a treat from the nice people at Murad head office, in recognition of Zen Lifestyle’s contribution to the development of the Murad brand in the UK. The trip was part of an event for the Murad ‘Global Superstars’, bringing together a small selection of Murad’s top accounts from around the world.

Apart from all the fabulous restaurants, shopping and sightseeing included in the trip, our two managers gained an insight into the future product developments at the leading cosmeceutical skin care brand. They even got a chance to get their creative juices flowing with an afternoon of painting alongside the great man himself, Dr Howard Murad, who is a renowned dermatologist and pharmacist. As well being professor of dermatology at UCLA, Dr Murad is a world-recognised pioneer and innovator in skin research and technology.

Zen Lifestyle offers the full range of Murad skin care products, as well as all the Murad facials. Zen was one of the first clinics in Scotland to introduce the Murad brand and continues to be one of Murad’s key salons in the UK.

We all love the Murad range here in the salon especially, as Dr Murad is so so focused on the reseach and development of ground breaking new anti-ageing products. So it’s fair to say when we received the new Time Release Retinol Concentrate we got slightly excited!

My Favourite Murad Products

The following Murad products were recommended to me as my skin had been so dehyrated and no combination of products was giving me any relief from dry uneven skin. What is fabulous is that they are stand alone products which do not need to be combined with any boosters to be efficient. They smell wonderful, the packaging looks great and best of all, the products leave your skin feeling nourished and glowing.

Murad Hydro-dynamic Ultimate Moisture - this is without a doubt one of the best products I have tried in years. I am a self-confessed product junkie having tried everything from La Prairie to Aveda and every brand in between, this product is my current favourite. My skin has been extremely dehydrated and having used this for the last month or so, I am receiving compliments galore on my radiant complexion. It is deeply hydrating and offers long term relief from dry skin yet is gentle enough for my sensitive skin. My skin feels nourished and refreshed and I love it. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

Murad Skin Perfecting Primer (Dewy) - this is my current second favourite product which I shall recommend to anyone who will listen. It leaves your skin with a radiant glow and in the process evens out skin texture and tone. It gives your skin a youthful fresh look. Wonderful!

Refreshing cleanser - this delightful cleanser smells and feels amazing! It cleanses without drying your skin, leaving it smooth and soft. It smells so good morning and night!

AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser - this cleanser polishes and smoothes your skin and has brightened up my complexion.

Introducing Murad White Brilliance

Dr Murad felt like something was missing in the skincare market and that was a range that would help:

• Tighten pores
• Lighten and reduce age spots and pigmentation
• Anti aging
• Hydrating
• Brighten and lightning to the skin

Wouldn’t it be great if there was one range we could use to reduce and improve all of these common skin concern’s at home? Well now there is with the Murad white brilliance range, and it’s proved very popular with our clients. It is a great range to use if you have Asian skin as they have a higher percentage of melanin. It will slow down the production of melanin so that age spots will be lightened and skin will appear brighter. It is also great to use if you have pigmentation maybe caused by medication or hereditary, as it contains advanced vitamin C which attracts the dark spots. It also contains lentil seed extract clinically proven to reduce pore size by 60%!

The range consists of three products, a gentle face cleanser which contains fruit enzymes, a step two corrector which you would use morning and night under a moisturiser for best results. Also a hydrating moisturiser which contains pa+++ spf30 to give you the highest protection from not only sun and cancer rays but also UVA which is from artificial damagers.  All three products smell amazing and are very light when applied to the skin.
